Start with Updates. Select a report for its summary and unknowns; choose Full evidence for claims, sources, and revisions.
- Updates are newest first.
- Selecting one replaces the Updates list while keeping the map visible.
- On phones, Back to updates restores the list.
Dates and evidence
Published or Reported is the source timestamp, not necessarily the event time. Occurred appears only when a source states it. Times use Nepal time (UTC+05:45). Open a source to see what it supports and what remains unverified; several reports may still repeat one account.
Map controls and limits
The reconstruction is site context, not an event-location map. Selecting an update does not place the incident in a tunnel; the branch and exact locations remain unverified.
Left-drag to rotate, turn on Axis to lock every rotation drag to its first horizontal or vertical direction, or hold Alt/Option for a single locked drag. Right-drag to pan and scroll to zoom toward the pointer. The chain icon in expanded viewport controls links shared model axes across orthographic views. Linking is off by default. Green means linked: panning follows shared model directions, and ordinary zoom scales both axes in every linked view to preserve proportions. Shift/Ctrl zoom changes only the corresponding model axis, including flipped views. Click to unlink a view. In orthographic views, Shift + scroll zooms vertically and Ctrl + scroll zooms horizontally around the pointer. The current viewport is the last one you clicked, tapped, scrolled, or focused; its selector is highlighted. In a 3D view, P switches projection, 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 select 3D camera / Top / Front / Side. Press 3 again to toggle Front / Back, or 4 again to toggle Side / Opposite. Remaining views receive 5 onward in the view menu, 0 resets, arrow keys pan, and plus or minus zoom. F enters fly mode in that camera: WASD moves, Q/E moves down/up, Shift boosts speed, and F exits. Tab or Escape releases the cursor and opens flight options; click the view to resume mouse look. In orthographic fly mode, W/S or forward/back joystick movement zoom in/out. Fly mode highlights visible opening rims in amber, adds a light that follows the camera, and shows camera elevation in the model datum. Focused footage keeps its playback shortcuts; focus its view selector or toolbar to use numbered view shortcuts. During measurement, P selects Tunnel profile. In Measure, drag a box to select measurements; hold Shift to add to the selection. Choose a measurement tool to create one, then return to selection automatically. Right-drag pans. Press M to open measurement tools under the cursor, D for Distance, B for Bearing, A for Area, N for a personal Note, or E to edit the selected measurement. Use Map key & routes to inspect a feature.
Choose Pan or Rotate, then drag. In Rotate mode, turn on Axis to lock each drag to horizontal orbit or vertical tilt. Pinch to zoom; use Reset for the overview. Marker text appears as you zoom closer.
Map items independently shows or hides system labels, measurements, annotations, event areas, and photos without deleting them.
Export view downloads the current or chosen split viewport at 4K or 8K as PNG or PDF. Choose which measurements to include with individual checkboxes, Select all, or Clear. The active measurement is checked initially; map layers, system labels and annotations follow Map items. PDF keeps labels and readings selectable; both formats omit edit handles and dense endpoint-coordinate cards. Higher output resolution does not improve source imagery or fill measured NoData.
Distance reports the measured width. Bearing reports drawing bearing and an approximate true bearing derived from the provisional map registration; it is not a surveyed azimuth. Area traces a projected polygon while you drag and reports area and perimeter; it does not estimate surface area or volume.
Tunnel profile (P) saves checkpoints along one tunnel with recorded sections. Place them in Top view or enter chainage and offset, then choose Finish path. Click or tap a saved profile’s label to open its popup. The linked chart and cross-section show floor, ceiling and local vertical gap with their evidence basis. Redraw path supports Apply, Cancel and Undo. Export map + profile opens Export view with the selected profile checked. Include paired map and profile reports adds an annotated top-down map detail and elevation chart linked by matching checkpoint numbers and distances from start, plus the selected cross-section, checkpoint table and evidence labels. Choose several profiles to export separate P1, P2 references. Long routes use overlapping checkpoint groups so every leg remains traceable. PNG combines the map and reports; PDF adds report pages. Save route sheet exports a standalone PNG; JSON export includes the path and its geometry revision. Modelled dimensions do not establish current free space.
User-drawn measurements are saved only in this browser and shown in Current, Top, Front, and Side. Completed geometry is locked: selecting a line, polygon, or badge cannot move it. Choose Edit points before moving a linear endpoint, or Redraw area for a polygon; changes remain temporary until Apply and Cancel restores the original. Details stores the record ID, Draft or Reviewed state, observation time, operator, method, instrument, uncertainty, reviewer, timestamps, and revision history. Any geometry change resets a Reviewed record to Draft. Delete removes a measurement immediately and offers Undo. Clear all asks for confirmation and also offers Undo. Export JSON warns before downloading exact coordinates, provenance, and revisions; browser storage is not encrypted. Import JSON validates and adds measurements without replacing current work. Evidence-controlled measurements remain read-only in every viewport. On mobile, endpoint coordinates stay in the selected-measurement panel rather than covering the map.
Photos and personal notes
Update photos open published images linked to the log. An area only marker means the source did not establish an exact camera or event location. Photo locations is historical station context, not incident-time evidence.
